To conduct research promoting advancement in the sciences and humanities, and to develop technologies and processes that facilitate climate drawdown.
Field Trials
Olivann co-leads a long-term field trial at UC Hopland Research Extension Center (UC HREC) and is initiating a long-term field trial at its North Coast Field Station.
Research Objectives
- Causal Analysis: Isolating variables affecting npSOC development, including biochar bulk electrical conductivity and crop functional guilds in rangeland ecosystems.
- Migration Modeling: Assessing vertical and lateral biochar migration in silty loam soils.
- Methodology Validation: Improving laboratory protocols for measuring pyrogenic carbon (PyC) in soil mixtures.
Collaborations
Research is conducted in collaboration with academic partners including the University of California.

Rocky Kahn
CEO & Research Director
Rocky Kahn leads Olivann’s environmental research initiatives. He directs field trials in collaboration with various academic partners including the University of California. His work focuses on quantifying biochar efficiency in rangeland ecosystems.
Heather Williams
Executive Director & Clinical Lead
I am an interactive therapist. My therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. I integrate complementary methodologies (EMDR, Somatic therapy, Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Brainspotting) and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach with each client. With compassion and understanding, I work with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
Dr. Williams is a licensed Psychologist with 25+ years of experience working with children, teens and adults, PTSD/trauma, gender fluid/gender questioning, and religion/spirituality.
